Through a delicate dialogue between archival images and family memory, The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing explores Palestine’s cultural heritage and its gradual erasure. The director uncovers rare color footage of Palestinian wildflowers—among the oldest visual testimonies of the region—filmed by Scottish missionaries in Palestine then under British occupation.

The younger sister lived far from her family in a Vatican college for orphans, but she did not suffer the poverty her elder sister endured, close to her loved ones, but beneath the rubble of bombed-out Rome.
