Vive solo con il padre, il quale ha scoperto di doversi sottoporre a un delicato intervento al cuore. È preoccupato per il futuro di Dario, nel caso l’operazione non andasse come previsto, e decide di rivolgersi a un’assistente sociale. Dario is a boy with disabilities who cannot speak or walk, but he communicates using a computer through Facilitated Communication with the help of Ada, his “facilitator.” He lives alone with his father, who has recently discovered that he needs to undergo a delicate heart surgery. Concerned about Dario’s future in case the operation doesn’t go as planned, his father decides to consult a social worker. She advises him to work with Dario to create a “Life Plan,” a document outlining Dario’s needs and wishes, designed to ensure his well-being when his father is no longer able to care for him.

One day, a girl meets a Japanese river otter. They try to communicate, but it doesn’t go very well. This is because the Japanese river otter is already extinct, and it is not possible to actually interact with the girl. They existed in separate spaces.
Juno is dead. She hasn’t been around for two years now, but her mother Hanna still spends every day with her. There is an AI-controlled device, the Echoehub, in Juno’s nursery. This is able to calculate possible scenarios that the deceased could have experienced in the future from information fed into it about the dead. Hanna’s wife Paula initially thought the AI in the children’s room was a good method of grieving, but over the past few months she has increasingly reached her limit. She decides to put her wife into cold turkey. But Hanna is prepared to sacrifice everything for the illusion of a perfect family.

Ucraina, 2022. Kherson è sotto l’occupazione russa. Kostya, coinvolto nella lotta clandestina, si nasconde continuamente. Solo sua madre sa dove si trova e crede che l’invasione russa sia la salvezza per il paese. Durante la notte Kostya sfugge miracolosamente alla morte e si reca dalla madre per verificare che non sia stata lei a tradirlo. Tra i due comincia una discussione animata, ma, quando la madre gli offre da mangiare, Kostya non riesce a rifiutare e si siede a tavola in silenzio. Quando sta per andarsene un agente russo irrompe nella stanza e prende in ostaggio la madre minacciando di spararle.
Ukraine, 2022. Kherson under Russian occupation. Kostya, involved in the underground fight against the Russians, is constantly in hiding. Only his mother knows his whereabouts, and she believes that the Russian invasion is a salvation for the country. That night he narrowly escapes death. So he comes to his mother to check if she was the one who betrayed him. A heated argument breaks out between them, but when his mother offers him a meal, he is unable to refuse and sits down at the table in silence.
As he is about to leave, a Russian agent bursts into the room and takes his mother hostage, threatening to shoot.

La vita di Carla, friulana di origine e milanese di adozione, viene stravolta dalla notizia che il padre è sul punto di morire. Ad aspettarla c’è la sorella Anna, che non riesce ad accettare l’imminente morte del genitore e annega la sua solitudine nell’alcol. Una disgrazia che non può essere evitata porta le due sorelle a ricostruire le fila di un rapporto andato perduto anni prima, quando Carla ha lasciato il Friuli per inseguire i suoi sogni lontano da casa.

The video was made by class 4ªD Scientifico of the Liceo Ariosto-Spallanzani high school as part of the European project “Deploy Your Talents – Stepping up the STEM career”, promoted by Fondazione Sodalitas with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and the involvement of the Credem company.
The short film imagines an alternative past in which Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei and Lazzaro Spallanzani are women: Galilea, Isacca and Lazza. Through their stories – marked by derision, exclusion and obstacles – the film focuses on the historical devaluation of women’s contributions and its repercussions on the present, reminding us how tangible the gender gap in science still is.

In the 1990s, 8 years-old Agata leaves Poland for Belgium. Anxious about her journey, the little girl writes a letter to her father back home, but her pencil falls out and gets lost on the bus. Forced to overcome her shyness, she crawls between the seats in search of the pencil, plunging into a fantastic world populated by strange half-human, half-animal passengers.

All’inizio dell’autunno, uno scoiattolo prepara le sue riserve per l’inverno, raccogliendo ghiande, castagne e nocciole. Quando finisce il suo inventario, si rende conto che gli manca una noce. Quando la trova, un corvo gli vola incontro, dando il via a un frenetico inseguimento tra i rami della foresta.
At the beginning of autumn, a squirrel prepares its reserves for winter, harvesting acorns, chestnuts and hazelnuts. As he finishes his inventory, he realizes that he is missing one nut. When he finds it, a crow flies at him, triggering a frantic chase through the branches in the forest.

All’angolo di una strada della città, un cumulo di rifiuti abbandonati circonda due cassonetti. Un vecchio materasso inizia a parlare tristemente: “Dicono che sono sporco…” Altri rifiuti si uniscono a lui, condividendo i motivi per cui sono stati scartati. Poi, un giornale viene sollevato dal vento e sembra danzare sotto la luce di un lampione. Ispirati, i rifiuti iniziano a vedersi in modo positivo.
On a street corner in the city, a heap of dumped garbage surrounds two garbage containers. An old mattress begins to speak sadly: “They say I’m dirty…” Other pieces of garbage join in, sharing the reasons why they have been discarded. Then, a newspaper is picked up by the wind and seems to dance in the spotlight of a streetlamp. Inspired, the waste begins to see themselves positively.

Madre è un essere misterioso che se ne sta seduto in una stanza e passa il tempo a disegnare animali che prendono vita. Man mano che incornicia e appende ogni disegno alla parete, attorno a ciascun animale appare una foresta e i disegni riempiono presto l’intera parete. Tuttavia, accade un disastro: Madre fa una macchia d’inchiostro e crea Wolfie, un piccolo lupo con il naso macchiato d’inchiostro, che inizia a correre dappertutto e a combinare un’enorme confusione.
Mother is a mysterious being who sits in a room and
spends her time drawing animals that come to life.As she
frames and hangs each picture on the wall, a forest appears around each animal and the pictures soon fill up the entire wall. However, disaster strikes: Mother makes an ink blot and creates Wolfie, a little wolf with an inky nose, who starts running around and making a huge mess.
